A nice cafe to hang out in!
I was able to grab a table outside, and since La Boulangerie is in such a great location, there's good people watching on that corner.
I had the arugula grain power bowl, and they were really quick to bring it out! It had plenty of toppings and a great dressing.
Overall a nice place to sit on a warm afternoon! -

Worst service ever this morning.
Perhaps it's unfair to give this place a one star review based on my experience this morning, however, with that disclaimer, I will go on to say again: worst service ever this morning.
Long story short, I go in and order a latte. I'm not in a huge hurry, but do have about 15 minutes of walking uphill to get to work ahead of me. Luckily, I got there with plenty of time to spare.
Or so I thought.
The person who was making the lattes, a trans person with a thick Hispanic accent, decided to serve people who came in after me first. It took me awhile to catch on, but when two men came in ten minutes after me and ordered lattes and received their drinks first, I realized I was being set aside. No chance I was forgotten. I say this because I stood in front of the latte area waiting for my drink. In case you're wondering, I always leave a 20% tip when I order. Today was no exception. I feel like this person who I described above is simply very troubled. The rest of the staff is great. The workers in the back hustle hard and the food looks delicious. The people at the register have always been super friendly and professional.
Not sure I will be back there after this, however. -

Came across this shop while just walking around. Had never been in this particular neighborhood before, tending to head more towards the waterfront (like most tourists). But this day we walked this way.
It seemed like a nice little bakery shop. We ordered a couple of things.
Frankly, they were nothing special. One was a chocolate-filled bun of some sort, but had very little chocolate in it. I don't even remember what my wife ordered. It was all pretty forgettable.
It's not bad, but "I've experienced better" is very accurate. -

I came here to meet a friend to catch up.
There is almost always a line, but it goes by quick. This is a typical cafe with lots of pastries and an assortment of sandwiches.
Unfortunately I didn't try to the croissant, but I got a breakfast sandwich.
Seating is in a queue. As people finish ordering, seats should open up. We sat outside, though the seating inside was nicer.
The breakfast sandwich was good. A bit pricey.
Overall my experience was average. Seemed like a hip place, but nothing really stood out except for the location. -

Just got a soft and mushy (while somehow burnt at the same time) kouign amann for a mis-advertised price. When asked about the price discrepency the staff made me feel unwelcome.
